Jamie is a piano and theory teacher with over 8 years of experience, having worked across all ages and abilities, from beginners through to emerging professional musicians.

Learning a musical instrument can be one of life's great joys and Jamie aims to put enjoyment at the heart of all his lessons. A supportive and stimulating environment is crucial to success in the short and long term and, with this in mind, Jamie takes the lead from the student and caters to their needs and musical tastes to ensure focussed and fun learning.

Jamie is comfortable teaching across classical, jazz, folk and popular styles and aims to introduce students to new music as well as the pieces they have always wanted to play! For those that want the opportunity to perform their pieces, Jamie runs a regular concert series for all students to meet fellow musicians and show off their progress.

For those that want the structure and recognition of working towards exams, Jamie will happily guide students through ABRSM and Trinity exams, for which Jamie holds a 100% success across both exam boards.

Where theory qualifications are required Jamie is able to teach theory qualifications up to Grade 8 standard.
